Art Days at Castle Drogo

Once gain, the National Trust at Castle Drogo has booked me to do some art days during 2016.

21st June – Atmospheric Skies
The sky sets the tone of a landscape painting and even the dullest grey blanket of cloud can be interestingly moody. Celia will help you with colour mixing and show you how to create a dark stormy scene and a calmer one, which you can finish off with a few simply landscape details for an impactful watercolour painting. Suitable for beginners and those wanting to experiment with different methods.

27th September – Woods and Forests
Have a go at portraying the beautiful woods and forests that surround us. First, Celia will show you how to mix fresh and exciting colours for the leaves and tree trunks and also how to bring the woods alive with different texture effects and collage. Then you will go on to create your own lively and colourful woodland scene. Suitable for beginners and those wanting to experiment with different methods.

8th November – Winter Moorland
In winter Dartmoor days are often moody ones, but it is often the best time to paint the moor as the low sun creates wonderful colour contrasts. Celia will show you that with careful choice of colour and texture effects you can portray this winter sparkle. You will have a go at painting Dartmoor under a light covering of snow and when the golden grasses stand out against the grey sky. Suitable for beginners and those wanting to experiment with different methods.
