News and other events

This year I will be involved in watercolour art classes, art workshop days, an art holiday and art on cruise ships.

Art Classes
My fortnightly watercolour classes in the Broadwoodkelly Village Hall are in their seventh year and are running Thursday mornings, from 10.30am to 1pm. They are suitable for beginners and those wanting to improve and experiment with different methods.

Exhibition at RHS Rosemoor
This will be in the Peter Buckley Learning Centre – with your back to the visitor centre follow the path to the left through the small gardens and a sign directs you through a gate. Amongst the paintings on show will be ones portraying my travels in the Artic.

Art Holiday
An exciting new venture is tutoring an art holiday. Details are not completely finalised yet but it will be in the last week of July at Halsbeer Farm, Kentisbeare, Devon. The attractive barns have been turned into comfortable self-catering accommodation and the room we’ll use for painting is large and light. On warm sunny days there is a verandah looking down onto a pond and over to the fields. Kentisbeare is on the edge of the Blackdowns and there are some lovely views to paint nearby, along with some good places to eat.

Art at sea
My first cruise of the year is in March when I go to Norway aboard mv Marco Polo, one of Cruise and Maritime's small ships which sail from British ports (so no flying involved) to some truly breath-taking destinations. The art sessions are held everyday the ship is at sea and the idea is for people to enjoy themselves without the pressure of producing a ‘masterpiece’.
